Tour Details

  • ….. 1. Kyu-Yasuda Garden · 30 minutes

Begin at this tranquil, little-known Edo-period garden near Ryōgoku. Enclosed and serene, the garden’s design emphasizes asymmetry, still water, and emptiness—echoing Zen ideals and inviting introspection amidst the city's chaos.

    ….. Commute · 15 minutes

    ….. 2. MUJI Ginza Flagship · 30 minutes

Explore Japan’s most iconic minimalist brand at its multi-story flagship store. This space embodies the modern interpretation of ma (negative space) and restrained beauty—offering insight into how emptiness and function coexist in daily life.

    ….. Commute · 15 minutes

    ….. 3. Nezu Museum Garden & Architecture · 45 minutes

Hidden in Omotesando, this museum's architecture and garden are masterpieces of minimalism. Kengo Kuma’s design dissolves the boundary between inside and outside, while the quiet garden paths lead you through curated stillness and subtle natural beauty.

    ….. Commute · 15 minutes

    ….. 4. Zōjō-ji Temple Grounds · 30 minutes

Near Tokyo Tower yet spiritually distant, this historical temple features wide-open courtyards and gravestones aligned in humble precision. The vastness of the grounds and simple structures evoke a sense of peaceful void.

    ….. Commute · 20 minutes

    ….. 5. Meguro Sky Garden · 20 minutes

An elevated garden built atop a highway loop, this surreal and quiet green space offers surprising calm. The open layout and minimal design reflect Tokyo's subtle way of inserting peace into the most unlikely places.

    ….. Commute · 10 minutes

….. 6. Contemporary Teahouse at HAPPA (Nakameguro) or Yakumo Saryo · 35 minutes

End the tour in a modern teahouse that embodies Japanese hospitality and minimalism. Whether it’s HAPPA’s artful austerity or Yakumo Saryo’s refined tranquility, this is where silence, space, and presence come together in perfect harmony—over matcha and seasonal sweets.
